Trying to have VNC on Ubuntu 20.04 desktop with remote being Putty on a Windows 7 machine.
Want to use the Gnome desktop displayed on the remote machine.
Have installed SSH on Ubuntu and Putty on Windows 7 tested and works as it should.
VNC is installed on Ubuntu machine and it appears to be misconfigured.
First try at config gave black screen and had to do a hard reset on Ubuntu. Command was vncserver
3 other different web sites gave me 3 different and very different ways to configure the Vncserver
After running vncserver:1 with each of the other 3 configs the best I got was logged out.
The question is what is the exact commands I need to put in the vncserver config file and or files?
Also what does the Putty config need to be?
Ultimate goal is the server should be headless.
Yes full control of an app on the desktop I have also instaledl tightvncviewer on windows but could not get it to work so that is why I installed putty. Open to any other apps needed on either end.
